We understood that the monument is a significant milestone but our voice to call attention to the ongoing struggle for equal opportunity in this nation and be heard if necessary. | Our June 12, 2011 Children's Day Worship Service was outstanding! Many thanks to Reverend Latasha Milton, Deaconess Ernestine Jones Gordon, Dr. Erral Wayn Evans, Sister Sonja Davis, Sister Emem Ituen, and all the parents, grand-parents and other adults who worked diligently with our children. Thanks also to Sister Deborah Moncure for the special "Children's Day" bulletin. The Children's Choir and Liturgical Dancers were wonderful! Peyton Franks, Bryan Ammons, Elizabeth Reed, Siyanna Mahan and Darion Bailey: each of you did an outstanding job leading worship. God has blessed all of you with special gifts and talents. | The Cancer Support Ministry would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the disciples of Central Baptist Church for supporting us in the Komen Race for the Cure. Once again this event was a big success. For those of you who walked, ran, slept in or went downtown just be a part of the sea of pink, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. This year the Komen Race for the Cure had 64,000 people to sign-up. The Cancer Support Ministry is proud to say that we the disciples of Central were a part of that number. We had 24 disciples, family members and friends to join team Central. With the help of return supporters and new supporters we were able to raise $1,143.00 to help fight the battle against Breast Cancer.
