Deacons are appointed and ordained by the Pastor. Deacons serve and care for those in need, as well as disciples of Central who are sick or shut-in. Deacons serve at the request of the Pastor and are primarily concerned with advancing the spiritual welfare of the church. Deacons serve Communion, baptize, provide comfort and assistance at funerals, receive tithes and offerings, and lead devotions. Central’s deacons are highly visible and significant spiritual leaders and church officers. As such, they play an active role in several ministries throughout the church.
